Apple of our eye

A cool day just begs for something warm and yummy out of the oven. Apples are out in full force so here's my version of apple crisp.
How to do it:
apples - 6-8 assorted varieties (usually use up whatever is in the bottom of the fridge and mix in some new, tart granny smiths)
slice and place in a greased dish - sprinkle with lemon juice.
combine & mix the following into the apples...
1/2 c. b. sugar
1 tbsp flour
1/2-1 tsp cinnamon (I use the full, but if you don't really like cinnamon, use less)
1/2 tsp salt
mix the following together, put on top of the apples
1 1/2 c. rolled oats
1 1/2 c b. sugar
1/2 c. melted butter
bake at 350 for 1/2 hour or until the mixture is bubbly, topping slightly brown and apples are soft (check with a fork)
Serve warm with ice cream.
