All about the food

As the countdown until this big holiday marches on, in our family we start thinking about the food. Not only is the main course an important part, but the really IMPORTANT part is dessert! We all save room for the finish - nothing really gourmet, nothing really grand, but something really good and for us this dessert fits the bill. We hope you like it as much as we do:)

This dessert is a family favorite - it is a chocolate layered dessert that is light, creamy and chocolatey, but not too chocolatey.

Base layer - oreo baking crumbs crust - 
2 1/4 c oreo crumbs
2/3 c melted butter
combine and press into bottom of 9x13 pan (put this into freezer for 1/2 hour or so, will make putting the 2nd layer on easier)

2nd layer
1 c icing sugar
8 oz cream cheese (room temp)
beat together and put over base layer

3rd layer - 1/2 tub of cool whip topping

4th layer
1 small pkg vanilla pudding
1 small pkg choc pudding
3 c milk
beat together and flood over 3rd layer

5th layer - the other 1/2 of the cool whip

last step (optional) grate a dairy milk chocolate bar over the top.
- pop it into the fridge until set - longer the better - and can be made the day before.
