We are ice cream lovers in our house. I always have about 4 flavors in our freezer at any given time, so when I was looking for Sunday ideas I came across this and thought 'wowza' this will be an easy, yet winner of a dessert, and I was right! It was received with 'pats on the back', 'well done' and the best applause - everyone went back for more!
Ice Cream Pizza
oreo cookies (about 25) - using a food processor, process until there are no large chunks left.
Add 3/4 c. hot fudge sauce and process until it comes together like a dough.
Press the dough into a 12" dish/pizza plate or just freehand - I lined mine with parchment paper so I could easily remove it from the quiche dish that I used.
When you've pressed it into place (I found using my hands better than a spoon) put it into freezer until firm (10 minutes or so)
Take out your ice cream to soften (I used 2 1/2 containers of vanilla haagen dazs ice cream)
One the base is ready, and the ice cream soft, put scoops onto crust and spread into an even layer
I did a 1/2 and 1/2
smarties (used some whole and some chopped)
grated dairy milk chocolate bar
and final drizzzle of hot fudge
chopped peanut butter cups
hot fudge drizzle.
*the peanut butter cup was the winner in our house, but the possibilities are endless, so customize your ice cream pizza any
way you like.
