There is something about the 'rice krispie' square - everyone loves it. Why? Well, is it the snap, crackle, pop - don't hear it in the square; is it the simplicity of the treat - maybe, but the ad on tv from long ago, where they come out of the kitchen with flour on their face and wanting everyone to think they slaved for days is a classic - love that ad; could it be that it's made from a cereal and we think it might be a touch healthy; or, does it remind us of our childhood when everything was easy and we just had to worry about who was getting the last piece? Well, whatever it is, we do love a good rice krispie treat! This version is for the sprinkle lover, it's great to celebrate something special, like maybe the 1st day of school, a birthday or maybe just to take an ordinary day and make it better.
Melt together (either in a saucepan or in the microwave)
1/4 c. margarine
1 pkg 250 g marshmallows (I prefer the mini - they melt quicker)
Stir until completely melted, remove from heat and add
1/2 tsp vanilla
Stir and add in
5 c. rice kripies and 1/2 c. of sprinkles
Press into buttered 13x9 pan using a buttered spoon
Cover with more sprinkles 3/4 c. or so.
Let cool and cut into bars
