How do I start? We like dairy queen ice cream treats - not a big confession but something we do indulge in quite frequently. We like them all but the buster bar is a favorite. So, I thought I'd try to do a dessert that was kinda/sorta like the buster bar. Here's what I came up with. My peanut gallery all gave it a 'thumbs up' rating (it's a happy day when the recipe is a good one)! It's not a lot of work, more of a time thing but easily made ahead and left in the freezer until you need it.
Peanut Buster Ice Cream Layered Dessert
In your food processor, add 24 cookies with cream in middle (303 g. bag - 2 that I may have eaten;) - not double stuffed and process until fine
Pour into a bowl and
1/4 c. melted butter
Press into the bottom of a 9x9 inch pan that you've lined with parchment paper.
2.5 containers Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream that has been softened.
Spread this onto the base
Layer 3/4 jar hot fudge - heated so you can spread it.
Layer 1 3/4 cups chopped/smashed chocolate covered peanuts - be generous (I find the Co-op gold brand to be the best)
2 containers Haagen Dazs chocolate icecream - softened
Spread onto base
To serve, sprinkle more chopped chocolate covered peanuts and chocolate syrup or hot fudge.
SO, SO, Delicious!
